King Prawn Makhani


Ingredients

  • Marinade:
  • 4 Tbsp of plain yogurt
  • Juice of one lime
  • 2 tsp of fresh garlic minced
  • 2 tsp of fresh ginger minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp of coriander powder
  • Salt



  • Sauce:
  • half an onion, diced and sauteed in ghee or butter. 
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger minced
  • Fresh jalapeno minced
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • 2 Tbsp of tomato sauce
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 Cup of cream
  • 1 tsp of Garam masala
  • 1 tsp of cumin powder
  • 1lb cleaned raw king prawns.

    Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl and marinate the shrimp for 20 minutes or longer. Combine the sauce ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.

    Add shrimp and cook until shrimp are pink. Serve over rice with poppadoms and naan bread.
